Stroller pants

My dad had this creative idea twenty some years ago when my brother was a baby. Since umbrella strollers have no storage whatsoever he took a pair of jeans, cut them off, sewed them up, and stroller pants were born. They are super cute, affordable and way convenient. They hang on the back of an umbrella stroller (by the belt loops) to create extra storage while you are strolling around town. Check them out at etsy.com. Type in "stroller organizer and they should pop up!

Halloween

Halloween was so fun this year. We went trick or treating and it turns ot that our neighborhood is one of the best for trick or treating, so it was way fun. Opal was a pink dragon and Evey was a skeleton. They had a great time. People kept calling Opal a dinosaur and she was not shy about correcting them. There was one guy who was dressed veryscary and he was handing out candy. All the kids were lined up on the sidewalk too scared to walk up to him, but Opal walked right up to him and growled at him. I think she felt pretty brave as a dragon. We had a great time and thanks to my grandma for helping me make their costumes.

Yes!

My camera has not been letting me download pics lately, so it has been a while since I have blogged. I finally got a new usb cable and it seems to be doing the trick. I have a lot to catch up on, but I"ll start with some pics of our house. It has come a long way, but it has an even longer way to go. We love our house and our ward and neighborhood. It's awesome.

Our new house

Yes, I know what you're thinking, but I promise we can do it! It actually wasn't that bad until we started tearing it apart, but it needed a little remodeling and a lot of updating. It's pretty much our dream house. It's really big and spacious, in a great neighborhood, and its totally our style of home. We hope to be done and have our current house rented by September 1st. So if you know any good renters...

EVEY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!

Eve just turned 1! We were camping so we didn't do much to celebrate, but when we got home Opal and I made her a cake, and she opened her gifts. She is talking so much ( I think she says 7 or 8 words) and she climbs on everything! She is so cute!

THE FAMILY CAMPOUT

We had such a good time! We were all sick, Evey grew a golfball sized lump on her head from falling on asphalt... but it was so much fun!

Eve is now walking! She actually has been for quite some time, but I'm just getting around to blogging about it. She also says quite a few words. She says, "mom," "more," "done," "Whoa!" and just recently,"no." She cracks me up. She does this fake laugh and she is always growling at people. The other day a movie was on and people were dancing. She would turn in circles and clap her hands, and when I would laugh at her, she would get embarassed and try to hide her face in the couch and she would laugh. We love that kid so much and we can't believe how fast she is growing up.

Opal is growing up too. She is such a good big sister. She is alsway taking care of Eve. She loves to give her a bottle and she will take away things that Eve shouldn't have and give her an appropriate toy to replace it. She is so funny. She can write her name and is getting pretty good at knowing the letters of the alphabet and their sounds. She loves to dress up, and does what I like to call "costume changes" while she watches a movie. A certain part will come on and she will jump up and say," Where are my black shoes? Where is my white dress?...etc." She then frantically searches for the right outfit, and by the time she gets it on, its usually time for another costume change. She also knows almost all the words to "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief," which cracks me up.

We love those kids!

A friend mine's sister had a baby that passed away recently. There are some auctions going on to try to raise money for the funeral. If you are interested in helping out, follow this link to Elizabeth Jarman's blog to find out more. Thankyou.

Little Evey makes our lives so happy. That kid is always smiling and loves hugs and kisses. She is also very active and almost walking. She has been crawling around on her knees for some time now and she loves when I chase her around the house. At her nine month appointment she weighed a little over sixteen pounds and she is getting her second tooth. She walks around on furniture like a pro, and she will take a step on her own every now and then. She is so adventurous and brave.

These are just some pics I took for fun in the back yard. These girls are so cute. We love them oh so much. and they are so hilarious. The other day we were driving by a school and kids were outside playing. Opal wanted to play too. I said, "That's a school. You are too little to go to school." She said, "I'm five! I'm five! I can go to school!" I said " No, You're three." She didn't say anything so I said "How old are you?" She got this really pouty look on her face and said, "Twenty." "And I can go to school!"
I really don't know where she gets this stuff but it sure keeps my life interesting.

L.A.

These are pics taken at the Getty art museum in Los Angeles. It is a beautiful place and we absolutely love it. It has an awesome art collection and very extensive grounds. It was so much fun to go there!

L.A.

We recently went to Los Angeles. It was a really fun family trip and the girls were very good. I did have to bribe Opal with gummy worms at one point, but who hasn't been there, right? She actually did really well and so did little Evey. We visited 3 art museums (museums were the main goal) and went to the beach. Opal liked the beach, but she was very afraid of the waves, and was downright terrified when Will and I let our feet get wet. She was screaming, "Don't let it get you, mom!". We also persuaded her to chase the seagulls away so she could see that they were more afraid of her than she was of them. We had a really fun time!

We love to dress up! Opal especially, but I decided to include Eve this time. Evey is almost crawling...not quite. She gets around pretty well by scooting on her belly. She is learning to eat all kinds of solid foods and can be quite a little pig sometimes. She has been saying "mama," for quite a while now, and just recently she started making other sounds, and says "dada" sometimes. She was 14lbs 9oz at six months, the same as Opal was, according to my records. Opal is the funniest kid ever. The other day we walked outside to a slight breeze and gorgeous sunny weather and Opal said enthusiastically, "Isn't it a beautiful day, mom?!" We love her so much!

Will recently put up a swing-set in the backyard. The girls have been having so much fun with it.
Evey loves to be outside and is trying very hard to learn to crawl. She just turned six months. We are also feeding her more food and she is staring to get into it. She whines when I am eating and I don't share with her. she is such a little sweetie.

Everybody knows that Opal loves to dress up, but I don't think very many people understand how much. She is basically obsessed. She also likes to dress up others if they will allow it. She always says the funniest things. The other day we were at Target eating lunch. When we finished, I said, "We're done, time to go shop." And Opal said, "My work here is done, " and got up. I don't even know where she gets this stuff but I am constantly laughing at her. She loves to pretend too. She pretends that she is "going to Daisy's house." Sometimes I am Daisy, and sometimes she is. That girl has quite an imagination.
